Caroline McClelland, or Linus, as she is known to her friends and colleagues, grew up in CT. She wanted to be a painter and studied fine art at UCT from 1990-1994. This is where she was introduced to fine art photography. Her subject matter of choice being plants. She was intrigued in particular by the works of Karl Blossfeldt, an early modernist artist who’s works were inspired by nature. It was his belief that “nature in its endless monotony of origin and decay is the embodiment of a profound secret”.
It was the continuous understanding and interpretation of this "secret" that has inspired Caroline to this day.
She has been shooting since 1998 and her career has taken her all over the world, so she gets to fulfill her two passions...travel and photography.
Her client list includes shooting for numerous advertising and fashion brands including Imperial Tobacco, MaxMara, Hansgrohe, Alvaro, Levis, Alan Gray, Bronx, Brantano, Dimexon, LaLu cosmetics, Motorola, Triumph… to name but a few.
She has also worked with celebrities such as Thandie Newton, Erin O' Connor, Mischa Barton, Jonty Rhodes and Will Carling.
